Thursday, November 10, after school, starting at 4 pm. Watch and discuss significant films,
both classic and more recent. . John Hughes’ Breakfast Club is an iconic coming –of-age comedy.

Teens help develop the library collection and services of the future. Monthly meetings. Get an

WrestleMania Reading Challenge
October 15 – November 28
Get ready to read and win! Compete for prizes, including a trip to WrestleMania in Miami,
Florida in April 2012, and $2,000 for the Saint John Free Public Library. Here’s how it works.
Tweens and teens in grades 5 – 12 pledge to read five books, graphic novels or magazines.
Grades 5-6: Design a bookmark illustrating a slogan created by you that promotes reading.
Grades 7-8 and Grades 9-12: Form a tag team of your favourite character from literature and
your favourite WWE Superstar, and design a poster which illustrates through art or words
the strategy you would use to defeat the current (as of October 10) WWE Tag Team Champions.
Original work only. One entry per student.
Deadline – Monday, November 28
The winners in each category will be entered in the regional competition. Regional winners
will represent their libraries at the
WrestleMania Reading Challenge World Finals.

after school, starting at 4 pm.
Big screen viewing of recent films acclaimed by the critics but overlooked at the box office. Ang Lee’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon features stunning martial arts scenes.
Young Film Critics Thursday, December 8th, after school, starting at 4 pm. Watch and discuss significant films, both classic and more recent. The Great Escape is a cinematic classic starting Steve McQueen. (Think Chicken Run, live action.)
